We are looking to recruit an experience Finance Assistant to work 12-15 hours per week in the West of Newcastle
This is a new role and still in development and currently involves working as part of a small team. You would be responsible for providing administrative assistance directly to the Ledger Clerk
Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:-
Purchase Ledger duties
* Collection of incoming delivery notes from factory office and matching to purchase orders
* Checking, collation, matching and filing of the above documents
* Follow up data entry to in-house stock and order database
* Collect incoming purchase invoices from mail / email, match, chase suppliers for missing invoices & delivery notes, save and distribute to the Ledger Clerk for coding
* Sorting of invoices alphabetically, numerically for passing to Finance Manager
Sales Ledger duties
* Printing of sales invoice control totals from database and check for missing invoices
* File office copies and copies for the Finance Manager
* Printing remittances and allocating copy to sales invoice
* Sales Ledger filing and general administration
* Email out customer statements monthly
The person
* Must have a similar background
* Be educated to GCSE level 5-9 including both English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Excel and Word experience
* Have Sales and Purchase ledger experience
* Ability to usete financial spreadsheets in MS Excel
* Be positive, proactive and dynamic - look for solutions to problems and ways to improve
* Remain flexible in an ever-changing environment
* Have excellent attention to detail
