Location: Derby
Rate of pay: £Upto £50k per annum (dependant on experience) plus benefits
Shifts: Days Monday to Friday 37 hours
Length of contract: Permanent

The role of Engineering Manager will have the primary responsibility for driving the development of the Engineering capabilities and ensuring quality engineering solutions are provided to our customers. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating projects, supervising the team, and researching new products. You will be expected to hire and train the engineering staff, set project budgets, and provide timelines for completion to the Sales team. The Engineering Manager will work closely with the other teams within the business and collaborate with other members of the Management Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Along with the Management Team develop and promote the company's high morale, positive and inclusive culture and encourage top performance.
* Build and maintain alliances and partnerships with several stakeholders including, but not limited to, the board of directors, employees, engineers and welding department, customers, and suppliers.
Management; including but not limited to:
* Monitoring performance of the Project Engineers, providing support, growth, and development opportunities where appropriate
* Managing the allocation of projects to each engineer ensuring a fair split of responsibilities where possible
* Oversight of quotations to ensure margins are maintained.
* Management of EFACS customer data integrity
* Responsibility to ensure NPIs are carried out for all projects by all team members.
* Ensuring engineering documentation is maintained to a high standard.

Cross Functional Working:
* Primary point of contact for Sales/Operations team for internal technical questions
* Provide costs and timings along with any technical instructions for additional arising works on current orders.
* Work alongside Welding Department to understand the requirements from Engineering to satisfy our 15085 standards

Working Conditions:
* Due to the nature of your job role, you will be required to undertake business travel both locally and nationally as required.

* From time to time, with reasonable notice, you may be required to work at another designated company location on a temporary basis.

* You shall always comply with company rules, policies and procedures including the drug and alcohol policy and understand that random drug and alcohol testing will be part of these working conditions.

* As part of processing data, your data will be shared with other group companies, and you agree to this under agreement of the Data Protection Policy

* Contribute to (from a sales point of view) budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.

* Liaise closely with engineering and take responsibility to drive timely proposals back to the customer.

* Capability to read, interpret and work with customer drawings and technical information.
