Teaching Assistant

Recruitment Education are currently working with a lovely primary School located in Peterborough to help find a suitable Teaching Assistant to work on long-term with the option of progressing to a permanent contract. We are looking for a teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and some learning difficulties including Autism. The teaching assistant would need experience of supporting pupils aged 7-11 years old in KS2 classes. Some of the pupils will have Autism and challenging behaviour and need a calm and caring approach to provide extra support and guidance.
The role is due to start immediately on a long-term contract which could progress to a permanent placement if successful in the role, so we encourage suitable candidates to apply asap. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at good school with a friendly and supportive Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate should have the following
* Enhanced DBS Certificate with both Adult and Child Workforce
* Teaching Assistant Experience or similar, minimum of 12 months' relevant experience support children
* Not fazed and would be confident supporting pupils with some of the following learning difficulties and disabilities including: SLD, Autism and complex needs
* Engaging with pupils in small groups and on a one to one basis
* Experience supporting secondary age pupils with learning difficulties
* Excellent rates of pay
