We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Service Manager for a 3 month contract in the first instance.
The role will be mainly on site but will have some hybrid working available. This will start ASAP and will be at Band7/8a under the NHS Agency capped rates and dependent upon experience.
The role will involve joining a team of Service Managers and experience at this Band 7/8a within an Acute setting is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

Responsible for managing the day to day operation of the services, working closely with the Clinical Leads and Matrons;
Manage the services to the highest standards, ensuring that patients, carers and families are treated with dignity and respect;
Dedicated portfolio of services, may take a lead for specific projects/service improvements;
Ensure that effective and efficient structures are in place to ensure that all standards of patient care are met and associated risk and governance matters are managed;
Support in developing efficient and effective patient centred services, meeting key financial and operational performance targets, and putting in place effective processes for delivering national / local targets, reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of services in terms of cost effectiveness and financial flows;
Implement efficient and effective monthly service business meetings with multidisciplinary attendance as a forum for delivering against operational performance and financial targets, including Finance Improvement Programme (FIP);
Ensure the services team are able to meet all national and local performance standards through the establishment of speciality performance objectives and securing the infrastructure to support the levels of performance required;
Ensure the services utilise available performance information to facilitate the monitoring of performance and the opportunities for improvements, agreeing plans to improve service efficiency and quality;
Ensure services have robust financial budget management processes and to ensure that all assets operated by the services are utilised effectively.
The ideal candidate will have:

Educated to degree level or relevant experience;
Knowledge of health service management, including change management and workforce redesign;
Detailed knowledge of the NHS in the acute sector with up-to- date knowledge of medical/surgical specialities;
Proven track record of monitoring healthcare targets;
Experience of staff management.
