Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals!Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Askern,Doncaster.
This role requires you to be a driver.
As a SupportWorker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individualswith learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people,each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assistingwith daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital rolein their life.
Spring Lodge is home to four gentlemen who need supporting peoplewith learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs andcommunication difficulties, who can at times display challenging behaviours. Weneed Support workers to play a vital role to provide the physical and emotionalsupport that our gentlemen may need to be supported every day this will includesupport in personal care, medication, finances, eating, drinking in line withSaLTs to achieve their goals and aspirations,
What qualities and skills do you require? Relationship buildingskills are vital for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishingopen communication, and building lasting relationships. It is also importantthat support workers develop patience, understanding, and effective conflict-resolutiontechniques to help navigate challenging situations.
What we're looking for:
·        Agenuine passion for supporting others.
·        Excellentcommunication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
·        Flexibilityto work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
·        Apositive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learningdisabilities.
Contract options:
·        Relief
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare therotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal andsocial life!
·        Days: Between 07:00-10:00
·        Waking Nights: 21:00-07:00
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
