Ocean Freight Operator

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating ocean freight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

* Negotiate rates and service contracts with ocean carriers, maintain strong relationships, and monitor carrier performance.

* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and keeping customers informed about shipment status.

* Monitor and manage shipment costs, analyse cost-saving opportunities, and optimize freight spend.

* Stay updated with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance to ensure adherence and minimize risks.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 3 of experience in ocean freight operations or logistics.

* Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Proficient in using shipping software and MS Office applications
