Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting on behalf of a large company in the Hull area who operate as one of the leading building, repairs, and maintenance contractors. They are presently employing around 500 people and have a turnover of £50m and they have some ambitious plans in place to grow this again over the coming years.

Purpose of the Role

* To support senior colleagues by scheduling and planning the work for a multi-disciplined responsive repairs team, including joiners, plumbers, multi-trade, roofers, plasters, electricians & groundworkers, subcontractors etc

* To proactively ensure the workforce are fully utilised at all times, determining the most effective ways to maximise productivity whilst maintaining a high performing customer focused service

* To actively monitor outputs against key performance indicators and proactively implement solutions to deliver the business needs

* Move labour to match demands and proactively reorganise resource to accommodate unexpected variances

Role Responsibilities

* To coordinate and motivate all of the responsive repairs team, using your initiative while working with operational supervisors, managers, trades etc to schedule works orders efficiently, allocating and completing repairs within targets and ‘right first time’

* To continually check tasks are being attended as required and that jobs are accurately closed in a timely manner and where the situation is unavoidable, confirm with customers additional appointments for any works not completed at first visit

* On an ongoing basis confirm that all necessary arrangements have been made e.g. confirming materials, deliveries, scaffolds, surveys, customer access etc have been organised prior to tasks being allocated to enable work to be progressed efficiently

* Provide appropriate advance communication and information to customers giving them a clear understanding of the work to be undertaken, eliminating opportunities for service failures

* Monitor work diaries and the accurate processing of tasks on-flow, in real-time, taking corrective action when discrepancies are identified

* Maintaining regular verbal communication with the workforce and supervision frequently throughout the day, innovatively implementing solutions to achieve the necessary performance outcomes

* Respond to all enquiries promptly and accurately updating repair records thereby facilitating tasks being completed in the most economically advantageous way whilst maintaining a positive customer experience

* Proactively update colleagues on the team performance, clearly articulating where and how working arrangements need to be adjusted to achieve the necessary outcomes for the business

* Liaise closely with supervisors on a frequent basis to monitor future workloads and plan resources as required to prevent negative impacts on service delivery
