Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for an Head of Building Safety to join our team in Canterbury. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £62,464 - £68,144 per annum.

About the role:

As an Head of Building Safety, you’ll be working with colleagues across the organisation, the Head of Building Safety will lead an innovative change agenda to improve our services and assure equal access for customers.

What you'll do:

Ensure that statutory and legislative requirements are translated into effective practice and procedures, ensuring that the service meets statutory requirements and strategic objectives.
Be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures which address protection risks across Kent and Medway within legal and statutory guidelines.
Be responsible for nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
Develop the Authority’s Building Safety functions.

What you'll bring:

Highly developed expertise in protection and in building strong relationships with other agencies and regulatory bodies.
Significant experience across the range of this post.
An understanding of the protection agenda and how to embed changes resulting from changes in legislation and national recommendations relating to best practice.
Excellent communication skills and can work at all levels, including with partner agencies.
In-depth experience of delivering transformational change projects.
A commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
An ability to focus on providing excellent services to our customers.
A management approach which is people focused, using coaching and an inclusive style.
