Location: Newcastle

Salary Scale: £75 to £100 per day

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic schools in Newcastle.

Job summary:

Assist students with SEND in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs and disabilities, both inside and outside the classroom.
Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to implement individualized learning plans and accommodations.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Help students develop essential skills, confidence, and independence in academic and social settings.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting to relevant persons as needed.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities in school settings.
Relevant qualifications or training in special education, teaching assistance, or related fields desirable.
Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Dedication to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
