Company Info: At Little Moon Childcare Centre, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children. Our unique programs incorporate a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning. Our programs are play-based, infused with creative STEM and Montessori programs, and we use materials and activities that encourage each child to explore, learn and solve problems.
Job Duties:
1. Design and implement child-care programs and creative activities based on our engaging curriculum coupled with observations of children’s interests and skills.
2. Monitor and assess children’s behaviors and developmental progress, prepare reports to parents and supervisors regarding observations or behavioral issues.
3. Create a safe and positive environment, maintain daycare equipment, arrange rooms and prepare snacks.
4. Direct and lead engaging activities, including storytelling, singing, and both indoor and outdoor play.
5. Promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development and form children’s proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
6. Document and share special moments and important milestones of the children, attending staff meetings to discuss children’s growths and progress
7. Promote open communication and work cooperatively and effectively as a team member.
8. Establish and maintain open, positive, friendly and cooperative relationships with each child’s family.
Qualifications:
1. Completion of a College program is required.
2. Early Childhood Licence to Practice in BC is necessary.
3. Experience in child care is an asset.
4. English language fluency, an additional language is preferred.
5. Compassionate and dedicated to early children’s education.
