Assay Technology Pathologist (All Genders)

Clinical Development Operations team. As an Assay Technology Pathologist, you will contribute to our mission of "Science for a Better Future" by

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Analyze tissue samples using various technologies (e.g., H&E, IHC, ISH, RNAScope) within multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology,
    inflammation, immunology, and cell and gene therapy, in both research and clinical (GCP) environments
  • Perform evaluations of H&E-stained tumor slides for macrodissection to facilitate molecular analyses
  • Maintain stringent quality control for tissue samples and staining, coordinating with both internal and external groups
  • Serve as the go-to expert for histopathology technologies, particularly IHC, mIF, and ISH/RNAscope, assisting in the development and validation
    of new assays for clinical trials
  • Aid in the establishment and validation of automated assays, such as immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridization, focusing on image analysis
    and tissue processing protocols
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with academic institutions, CROs, diagnostic companies, and industry associations, offering insights
    on advanced technologies for spatial analysis and multiplex assays
  • Work closely with project and strategy teams, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration

WHO YOU ARE

We are excited about your talent and passion for the Assay Technology Pathologist (f/m/d). Attracting the right talent is important to us. We would be
happy to identify and shape the career and development opportunities you are looking for together with you, also on a part-time basis (min. 80%).

  • You have a M.D. degree in Pathology
  • You have a strong background in research/clinical development, particularly in biomarker-focused initiatives, with experience in the pharmaceutical,
    diagnostic, or biotech sectors
  • You demonstrate a robust scientific foundation in cancer biology and/or immunology
  • You are proficient in histopathology techniques (e.g., IHC, ISH, macro-/microdissection, quantitative imaging analysis) and bring experience in
    assay development, validation, and image analysis algorithm creation
  • You are skilled in implementing complex in vitro diagnostic assays for clinical trial requirements and sample handling strategies
  • You have advanced understanding of pathophysiology and oncology therapies, with an emphasis on translational sciences and biomarkers
    (additional disease area experience is beneficial)
  • You are familiar with relevant regulations (e.g., IVDR, CAP/CLIA)
  • You bring a strong scientific reputation with publications and a solid network within academic and clinical circles, along with excellent leadership,
    communication, and influencing abilities
  • You are fluent in English (both written and spoken), with German language skills being advantageous

We use the possibilities of hybrid working flexibly. In order to experience community and collaboration, you are on site at least 3 days per week.
