£23,795 - £24,835 Per Annum Plus Sleep In Payments (up to £4000 Per Annum)
We are currently recruiting for an exceptional provider of care for Children & Young People.

This is an organisation that offers excellent care and education support to young people with challenging behaviours.

There are opportunities in LE5, LE2 and LE3 areas of Leicester

We are looking for Support Workers support in the safe running of the home and work with a team to ensure positive outcomes for the young people.

The role will involve developing interests and attitudes of the young people and supporting to live independent and healthy lives, while encouraging educational goals.  You will support the young people to achieve the best outcomes

We are looking for individuals with experience of working with challenging behaviour within a residential setting and an understanding of safeguarding and promotion of welfare of young people. 

You will be working a one on two off shift pattern:

WEEK 1

08:00am – 22:00pm Monday, Thursday & Sunday

WEEK 2

08:00am – 22:00pm Wednesday & Sunday

WEEK 3

08:00am – 22:00pm Tuesday & Friday

The back to WEEK 1. There will be the requirement to do sleep ins on some of the days and when you do the shift is 08:00am – 23:00pm – sleep in – 07:00am – 08:30am the next day.

*Shifts are done on a fair rota system* 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support in the development of new techniques and approaches to childcare within the provision.

Encourage development in individual’s interested and attitudes

Establish positive and trusting relationships with the young people

Participate in activities and holidays with the young people

Assist in preparation of meals in the home

Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person

Encourage young people to develop educationally

Observe and assess behaviours of the young people.

Ensure accurate care plans and reports at all times

Liaise with outside agencies to ensure the best care.

Develop professional relationships with co-workers, young people and families

Always ensure best care practices in line with policies and procedures

Requirements:

Must have experience of working with young people in a residential setting

Must hold a relevant qualification in residential childcare or equivalent.

Experience of work with learning Disabilities or SEBD would be extremely advantageous

Range of life skills and experience is essential.

Understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing with regards to children and young people

MUST be a driver and hold a valid UK Driving Licence
