Mechanical Assembly Fitter
We are working with a client who are actively recruiting for a time served mechanical fitter to work on a wide range of mechanical assembly project applications within the UK Defence and Nuclear industries.
The Role and Requirements;
* The ideal candidate should be able to work on their own initiative and be able to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
* The role will entail the fitting, assembly and testing of a wide array of assemblies. The scope of work will cover relatively straightforward tooling through to complex mechanical assemblies with associated hydraulic systems.
* The size of projects will vary from items which can be handled manually up to and including larger assemblies which require specialised lifting and handling equipment.
* Working closely with the Project Engineering team, you will be responsible for meeting the customer requirements as defined by their specification and testing requirements.
* It is advantageous that candidates have manual machining experience in order to support the assembly and testing process.
Schedule:
* Day shift, (Apply online only) (Mon-Thu), (Apply online only) (Fri)
* 33 days holiday per annum (includes bank holidays)
* Overtime paid at 1.5x
Ability to commute/relocate:
* Ripley, DE5 3ND: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience / Qualifications
* Time Served / Level 3 Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
* Mechanical Assembly: 5 years
* Manual Machining: 3 years
* Excellent Interpersonal skills, comfortable working as part of a team
* Experience of working within relevant industries; Nuclear, Defence
* Experience of working with a wide range of assemblies in size and weight
* Experience of working to tight tolerances
