Our client has been established over 40 years and has grown to provide a complete service in the supply of welding and fabrication solutions to various sectors including oil and gas, subsea, and renewable energy, as well as working with the Ministry of Defence and many general engineering businesses throughout the UK.
Job Purpose:
The Plater is responsible for performing metal plating, coating, and finishing operations on various components and products to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform plating processes such as electroplating, electroless plating, anodizing, and other related methods.
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, and etching using appropriate solutions and equipment.
Monitor and maintain plating baths, ensuring correct chemical compositions and operating conditions.
Operate plating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and customer requirements.
Use measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and thickness of plated coatings.
Record and report any defects or deviations from specifications to the supervisor.
Maintenance and Safety:
Perform routine maintenance on plating equipment and tools.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Dispose of hazardous materials and chemicals in compliance with environmental regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of plating operations, including bath compositions, production quantities, and quality control results.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly production reports to the supervisor.
