Our client has been established over 40 years and has grown to provide a complete service in the supply of welding and fabrication solutions to various sectors including oil and gas, subsea, and renewable energy, as well as working with the Ministry of Defence and many general engineering businesses throughout the UK.
Job Summary:
The Welder will perform various welding tasks, using electric, gas, or other welding processes, to join, fabricate, and repair metal structures and components according to blueprints, technical drawings, or specific instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding operations such as MIG, TIG, ARC, and oxy-fuel welding.
Fabricate metal structures and components from blueprints and technical drawings.
Use various welding techniques to join metals such as steel, aluminium, stainless steel, and cast iron.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear to prevent injuries.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
Equipment and Tools Management:
Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials required for the welding process.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with welding equipment.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Skills:
Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC, oxyfuel).
Strong understanding of metallurgy and welding principles.
Ability to work with different types of metals and alloys.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
