The Role:
We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated leader to oversee the execution of their Transport Plan. Your goal is to exceed customer expectations and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transport Plan Execution: Oversee the planning and allocation of resources to meet delivery times and accuracy targets.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure service levels meet and exceed KPIs, achieving 100% on-time deliveries.
* Data Management: Handle various data streams to support operations.
* Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with customers, repair agents, and internal teams.
* Commercial Understanding: Deeply understand the commercial aspects of customer contracts.
* Team Management: Clearly define roles and responsibilities, raise team performance, and manage attendance and absence.
* ER Issues: Handle disciplinary, grievances, and absence issues within your team.
* Coaching: Act as a mentor for your team, providing regular one-on-one support.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with working time regulations and operator licensing.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other shifts and represent the transport department.
* Continuous Improvement: Support and implement company initiatives and best practices.
* Health & Safety: Manage transport operations in line with Health & Safety policies and statutory requirements.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role within Transport Logistics (5 years preferred).
* Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word, with the ability to analyze data for opportunities and cost savings.
* Commercial Awareness: Understand EU legislation and transport operations.
* Driving License: Full UK driving license required.
* Background Check: Successful candidates will undergo a basic DBS check.
