Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement a variety of bespoke products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing procurement, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain management. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies a variety of products to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and reliability.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure the best possible pricing and supply agreements.
Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimise supply chain efficiency and reduce excess stock or shortages.
Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Implement initiatives to achieve procurement cost reduction targets.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured items meet the company's quality standards and specifications. Work closely with quality control teams to address any issues or discrepancies.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and supply chain developments. Use this information to make informed purchasing decisions.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and finance teams to align procurement activities with company goals and project timelines.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, within a manufacturing environment.
Security Clearance: Must be able to work within the defence market in the UK/Defence Cleared
Skills:

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.(SAGE preferable)
Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
