Working in Central London for an organisation that's known all over the world, we are looking for a Systems Administrator that's capable of building an online resource from scratch ( or reconfigured/extended to incorporate the additional date being created by the programme).
Whilst you'll have the full support of a mature I.S. team, the post will be in working in isolation, having responsibility for ensuring systems are kept up to date, devising and monitoring kpi's, as well as evaluating new techniques and technologies for data improvements.
You won't need to tick all of the tech checklist, but below is an overview of the tech landscape -
Implementing and managing open source and proprietary systems and their underlying technology stacks
Relational databases, text index systems (Lucene / SOLR / Elasticsearch), and graph-based indexes and triple stores: constructing SQL queries, designing database schemas, configuring indexes and weighting searches, graph-based querying, etc.
SQL and XSL, as well as scripting languages and framework environments such as .NET - and an ability to learn new languages as required
Linked (Open) Data: thesauri, data standards and ontologies, and using them to publish and consume interoperable data.
