Assistant Financial Accountant
Location: Central London
Band: 5 - £17 per hour
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 4 - 6 months
Are you an aspiring financial professional looking for a dynamic role within the NHS? We are a leading recruitment agency, currently seeking a skilled Assistant Financial Accountant to join a prestigious NHS hospital located in the heart of Central London.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
* Produce financial reports and returns to NHS Improvement and the Department of Health and Social Care.
* Reconcile a range of control accounts related to the Trust’s Statement of Financial Position.
* Assist in reviewing income contracts and ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards.
* Coordinate interim and year-end stock takes and prepare stock adjustment journals.
* Prepare monthly CIS returns and Congestion Charge reimbursement claims for review.
* Ensure timely payment of staff payroll deductions to relevant organisations.
* Maintain the Losses and Compensation register and prepare annual and quarterly reports for NHS Improvement and the Audit Committee.
Requirements:
* Part qualified CCAB accountant (first level) or AAT.
* Minimum of 3 years of accounts experience within an NHS setting.
* Previous experience within a finance department.
* Understanding of double entry principles and general accounting procedures.
* Knowledge of year-end procedures and computerised accounting systems, specifically Cedar e-financials.
