Production Manager - Electrical Installation Products

The Role

Europa is a well-established player in the electrical wholesale market, known for distributing a comprehensive array of products. As our Production Manager, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that our electrical installation products meet the highest standards. You'll oversee the entire production process, from planning and coordination to hands-on assembly and quality control. Your leadership will guide our production team to new heights, driving efficiency and innovation at every turn

In return we will offer you a competitive salary from £45,000 per annum dependent upon experience, plus a companywide bonus scheme, 23 days holiday which increases with service & the option to purchase more, increased pension contribution, BUPA private healthcare with the option to add family members, 3 x life assurance & EAP, free onsite parking useful for travel from Luton Airport.

Key Responsibilities of Production Manager:

Production Oversight:

* Utilise our ERP system to manage the production of electrical installation products.

* Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet targets and deadlines.

* Implement efficient manufacturing practices to optimise output and minimise waste.

Quality Control:

* Establish and enforce quality control standards.

* Conduct regular inspections to identify and correct defects.

* Ensure Bill of Materials accuracy on the ERP system.

Team Leadership:

* Lead, train, and supervise production staff.

* Set performance goals and provide feedback and evaluation.

Resource Management:

* Coordinate with procurement to ensure component availability.

* Manage production resources, including equipment and facilities

Process Improvement:

* Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost reduction.

* Implement lean manufacturing principles.

* Lead process improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Collaboration:

* Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and seamless production.

* Communicate process changes and improvements across departments.

* Align production strategies with business goals.

Health and Safety:

* Enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

* Address and mitigate safety concerns promptly.

Reporting:

* Generate regular production reports and performance metrics.

* Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

* Communicate findings to senior management for informed decision-making.

Experience and Knowledge requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

* Proven experience in manufacturing and production management, preferably in the electrical installation products industry.

* Strong understanding of electrical components and industry standards.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* Proficiency in process optimization and lean manufacturing principles.

* Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

* Familiarity with production management software (Syspro a bonus).

* Commitment to safety and compliance.

* Experience with fiber laser machines is an advantage
