Mechanical Project Manager – c£60k/£70k+ plus car / car allowance
This M&E Building Services Company has been established over 30 years and carry out the delivery of a wide range of projects.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join the team based from their offices near Southampton.
Role overview
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist growing a mechanical business within the company. They are looking for someone with hunger and drive that wants to help be responsible for building a mechanical company with a turnover in excess of £5M per year.
The ideal candidate must have experience of delivering M&E projects from conception through to completion.
Key responsibilities
* Explore pre-construction documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project/client requirements
* Research building materials, equipment and labour costs
* Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts
* Conduct risk analysis activities
* Create and present reports to management
* Provide clear quantity take off information for estimating purposes
* Negotiate, Analyse and evaluate pricing
* Prepare and submit tenders
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with stakeholders
* Extensive awareness of construction legislative requirements
* Managing successful projects
Qualifications and key skills required
* Ideally a professional Construction management qualification (NVQ, CIOB, BSc or demonstrable experience)
* Extensive M&E trade and technical awareness
* Self-starter
* Commitment to customer care and customer focus
* Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
* Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
* Experience of working with building contracts (JCT, NEC etc.)
