Senior Electrical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work for one of the busiest shopfitting contractors in the Southampton region.
The main aim is to take responsibility for the proficient design and planning of electrical contract projects typically within the food and retail market sectors.
The contractor has a very busy order book for the next 2-3 years within the shopfitting retail sector.
Role:
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to plan and design electrical contracting projects liaising with clients in a safe, effective and profitable manner.
* To liaise with clients, third-party agents and the General Manager to ensure that all company project plans and designs are delivered in a proficient manner.
General Duties:
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to organise from the award of the contract, the design & planning of contract fulfilment.
* Operating the company's design software application (Electrical OM) to achieve a cogent and viable plan in accordance with customer specifications (if provided) or industry best practice.
* Inputting design data into company's estimating software application (Ensign) in order to produce a comprehensive list of requirements.
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to maintain the Ensign software database in a timely and efficient manner.
* The provision of the Electrical OM output to CAD for conversion to a project drawing pack.
* Checking CAD output to ensure that all project drawing packs are accurate and that they reflect customer specifications and Electrical OM output.
* Liaison with relevant third-party agencies to ensure that Project Plans take into account the third-party agencies needs and client focussed demands.
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to maintain version control over all documents, plans and drawings in a Project Pack.
* Submission of Project Packs to clients and amending such Packs as required by the Client.
* Producing and disseminating quote requests to relevant suppliers.
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to review returns on quote requests and selecting suppliers in accordance with those quotations.
* Senior Electrical Design Engineer to issue Purchase Orders to chosen suppliers.
* Liaison with clients, suppliers and subcontractors with respect to the fulfilment of company contracts.
* Attend client scoping meetings as required.
* Attend site developer meetings as required.
* Ensure contracts are quoted correctly and variations captured.
* Carry out a pre-start site measurement surveys where required.
* Possible occasional requests to produce written reports relevant to the design and planning of client projects.
* Software system - Electrical OM would be an advantage but not essential
