Customs Compliance Consultant - £50K-£55K - Remote

My client is seeking a knowledgeable customs compliance consultant to join their team. The company are a global logistics brand that have continued to grow since brexit, throughout the pandemic and beyond.

The company has offices across Europe and the World. This including over 10 UK sites.

The company were founded in the 1900s so we can safely say you would be joining a stable, long standing business. The group employ 20,000 employees which spells opportunity in a well-structured organisation.

The Package:

Salary - £50K - £55K
Working hours Monday - Friday 9-5

The Role:

Maintain awareness of any rules, regulations, policy, and guidance notes published the HMG bodies that is relevant to customs declarations.
Assist with preparing and presenting clear and concise compliance reports to the Board.
Interacting with HMG bodies on compliance issues when required.
Independently investigating and acting on matters related to compliance.
Evaluate the efficiency of controls and continuously improve them, and revise procedures, reports, etc on a periodic basis to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
Ensuring that the policy laid down by the HMG bodies are strictly followed and adhered to by all employees submitting declarations.
Identify required changes to process/systems to incorporate changes of any rules, regulations, policy, and guidance notes published the HMG bodies that is relevant to customs declarations.
Assist with creating and overseeing control process/systems in to prevent violations of rules, regulations, policy, and guidance notes published the HMG bodies that is relevant to the business model.
Assist with preparation for audits by HMG bodies and present the information required during the audit where required.
Assist with complete yearly internal audits of processes, documents, and practices of all branches.
Issue any Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) and monitoring through to completion.
Help resolve non-compliance issues/errors as when requested.

Experience Required:

Up to date knowledge of HMRC rules and regulations.
3 to 5 years' experience within the shipping industry/freight forwarding (Customs bias desirable)
Good leadership skills
Ability to provide training where required
