The Electrical Designer will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and will be an important member within a motivated technical team developing and manufacturing complex systems and solutions for the semiconductor industry. With the support of the Lead Engineer, the Electrical Designer will help develop design proposals for both power and control systems ensuring, understanding and alignment within both the immediate team and global stakeholders, during the full lifecycle of the development programme.
Your Role

Design complex electrical detail to relevant standards using 2D CAD tools, typically Autocad Electrical and/or Visio.
Experience with 3 phase busbars and power components typically in the 200 to 480V range to around 600A.
Provide drawings, BOM's, compliance documentation and technical support, and offer guidance during the subsequent handover of technology to our global NPI Teams.
Experience with PLC Control Systems, network communication and low volt control circuits.
Present clear electrical system specifications.
Use engineering calculations to verify new designs or update current products.
Create documentation including schematics, one-line drawings and bills of materials.
Selection and specification of electrical components, cabling and sub-assemblies.
Experience of 3D (Catia V5 or V6) to add electrical visualisation and space claim in complex 3D assemblies.
Prepare presentations to ensure team and customer understanding.
Ability to demonstrate completion of significant industrial system design.
Solve and diagnose problems both in-house and on customers' site and resolve with practical solutions - use of a range of problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis etc.
Analyse and present data and statistically assess the results.
5+ years of experience demonstrating Industrial electrical systems and subsystems expertise.
Good teamwork, customer/peer interaction and communication skills.
An understanding of designing to support compliance approval - Knowledge of CE, EN, UL, NFPA will be advantageous.
Able to work to tight deadlines.
An innovative and imaginative thinker, obvious enthusiasm for engineering and an ability to get things done are important requirements for this role.
Used to working, in a diverse environment where rapid change is the norm rather than the exception.
Attention to detail, "right from me" and right first-time approach.
Good written and oral communication with interpersonal skills that allow you to be an effective team player and be aware and sensitive to cultural diversity.
Experience of FMEA, HAZOP, DFMEA and other design and risk analysis techniques.
