Your Role

As an IT Security Specialist, you will provide security oversight, guidance, and practical support across our IT environment. This encompasses application development, networks, infrastructure operations, and endpoint management. Your objective is to prevent monetary loss and reputational harm by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver security-focused support across a wide range of security technologies.

* Manage security risks within the organization by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential threats.

* Assist our compliance team in developing security and privacy policies within an ISO27001 accredited ISMS.

* Identify opportunities to enhance security and propose/implement appropriate solutions.

* Analyse and respond to security threats, reporting findings to a broader incident response team.

* Conduct regular internal and external security assessments of our infrastructure, manage findings to completion, and support our development teams as necessary. Work with trusted external partners conducting security assessments on the organization’s behalf.

* Manage a suite of common security products, such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), FortiGate, Sophos, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Azure security tools, O365 MFA/Conditional Access/AIP/Endpoint, CrowdStrike, Kaspersky, Cloudflare, Qualys, and KnowB4.

* Utilise security testing tools such as Qualys, Nmap, and Metasploit to identify and address security vulnerabilities.

* Manage and resolve reported issues related to security products and services.

What You Need to Succeed

Essential:

* Over 2 years of experience in an IT security role.

* Experience with Azure / Azure AD administration.

* Experience with Azure & AWS technologies/services

* Technical understanding of common IT systems/concepts, including:

* DNS (public and private)

* TCP/IP

* Firewalls

* Practical knowledge of common cybersecurity standards (ISO27001, C5, Cyber Essentials, etc.).

* Security technology solutions knowledge/experience, including:

* Web security gateway

* Email security gateway

* Endpoint security

* Web application firewall

* Firewall and Threat prevention

* DDOS protection

* SIEM

* Privileged access management

* Vulnerability and penetration testing

* Application/code security analysis
