The payroll specialist will oversee the organisation's payroll functions, ensuring that all aspects of payroll processing are carried out efficiently and accurately. The role involves managing payroll preparation and resolving any payroll issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee payroll function to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Ensure compliance with legislation, local payroll, wage, and hour laws, and best practices.

Comply with company policies and government regulations.

Understand legal regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the finance industry and corporate governance.

Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

Perform periodic payroll reconciliations and reports to ensure accurate accounting of all payroll-related transactions.

Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.

Handle and resolve complex employee payroll issues.
Required Skills/Qualifications:

Proven experience as a payroll supervisor or in a similar role (5-10 years experience desirable).

Strong knowledge of payroll software. 

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. 

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. 

Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

Certified payroll qualifications (desirable). 

High level of professional and moral integrity, with a commitment to transparency and accountability. 

Continually look for improvement opportunities and better ways of working.

Adapt to changing business environments and managing multiple priorities effectively.
