Quantity Surveyor - The Role:
Our client is a well-established and fast-growing construction and infrastructure services provider, operating across South Wales and the South West. A privately-owned company headquartered in South Wales, the business has been supporting critical infrastructure for over 50 years. Working across a number of sectors, they provide services for the optimisation, installation, maintenance and refurbishment of (non track/rolling stock) Rail, motorway, local authority, civil engineering and construction sectors on a wide range of projects.
The Rail division has the unique capability to fabricate and construct a wide range of steel structures and then install, as well as refurbishment rail stations and associated infrastructure.
Quantity Surveyor - The Person
* You will have solid experience working with a Rail infrastructure contractor or withibn civil engineering/infrastruture on a range of projects.
* Expericne in Infrastruture, Bridges, Stations etc is beneficial but not essential - we would also consider experience in Civil Engineering.
* Experience as Quantity Surveyor is essential
* Commutable to Cardiff and within South Wales
Quantity Surveyor - Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
* Effective management of the CVR process including certification and ensuring efficient income recovery.
* Contributing to teamwork working with clients and subcontractors building on trust, honesty and building in support mechanisms to support colleagues in their tasks.
* Assisting in all pre and post contract quantity surveying duties in the pricing of works and services and the production of tender documentation/schedules of works and any other contract documentation required for the procurement of such works.
* Actively assisting in the delivery of contracts and the recovery of money. Effective management of invoice processing and documentation to ensure efficient income recovery.
* Liaising with the Client, Contract Administrator and appointed subcontractors and accurately valuing in accordance with contract requirements and procedures work properly carried out on schemes and certify payments.
* Maximising the efficiency of the service through the effective management and utilisation of all resources and in conjunction with the Contract Managers, proactively identify problems and where appropriate take action to improve service delivery.
