Travel Insurance As a Consultant Ecologist your duties will include:

Providing ecological support to a varied range of projects across different sectors and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Planning and coordinating field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results.
Undertaking field surveys and managing survey data.
Authoring ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals.
Undertaking mapping using QGIS; and assisting with bid preparation and building client relationships. To be considered for the Consultant Ecologist position, you will need:

A degree in ecology, biology, zoology or closely related field.
At least qualifying membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an application in process (cover available for membership costs).
Experience with UKHabitat surveys.
Survey skills for one or more protected species.
An understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning policies, licensing requirements and best practice survey techniques.
Understanding of biodiversity net gain (BNG) / application of biodiversity enhancements.
Experience of producing ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal Reports.
Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
Willingness to complete field surveys and travel to different sites.
Excellent communication skills.
