Behaviour Specialist higher level teaching assistant/cover supervisors for September in Newport.

TeacherActive are currently recruiting Behaviour Specialist HLTAs/cover supervisors to support the learning and development of pupils requiring additional support in schools. The Schools work with a wide-range of pupils with additional learning, behavioural and emotional/social needs. HLTAs/cover supervisors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education.  Experience with challenging behaviour is a must.

The biggest focus will be on delivering core skills in English, Maths at GCSE level. 

Skills and Experience:

– Experience working with secondary aged pupils plus with a particular focus on English and Maths;

– Understanding and appreciation of working with disengaged pupils and those with SEN/ALN/Challenging Behaviour;

– Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions;

– Excellent written communication and reporting;

– Excellent timekeeping and reliability with an empathetic and understanding nature;
