Zoro UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Grainger (NYSE: GWW), a global industrial supplier with headquarters in Lake Forest, IL, USA.
We are a new business in the Industrial MRO market, looking to increase our share of market, through a proposition that is focused on the needs of our customers.
The Zoro team is in London and Leicester. Leicester is the home of the Product, Customer and Finance teams, whilst our Development, Marketing and Data Analytics teams are based in the heart of London.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The role of the Digital Merchandiser is to enhance the product content for our 3M+ product range, creating a better customer experience through enhancing core product information, through creating product ranges, updating taxonomy and adding attributes.
A small team, our Digital Merchandisers will be responsible for the ongoing enrichment for our 3M+ current product range alongside new products added (estimated 1M+ per year) in line with the overall Merchandising and Business Strategy.
Our Digital Merchandising Programme is driven through a mix of automated solutions and merchandising knowledge, so this team must be comfortable with understanding computer-driven solutions and when these can or should be overridden to make a better customer experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will:
1. Be responsible for managing the process to group products together, ensuring that predictions are correct and support the customer journey.
2. Ongoing review of product attributes to ensure that attributes are being assigned correctly.
3. Manage ongoing categorisation projects ensuring that products are correctly categorised.
4. Carry out competitive reviews as needed to identify content improvements.
5. Work across a range of content improvement tasks as required, utilising merchandising and customer understanding to ensure that decisions are made that will support the customer search and browse journey.
6. Prioritise changes, queries and requests based on commercial opportunities.
7. Navigate and understand content data studio reports to suggest opportunities.
8. Be comfortable with presenting within team meetings content updates.
9. Demonstrate accountability of end-to-end processes - ensuring that content quality guidelines are being met whilst also seeking to improve and input to the gudelines.
10. Work alongside the Merchandising Automation Team to ensure that feedback on automated tools is both captured and used to drive continuous improvements Work alongside other teams to deliver content such as, but not limited to, visual attributes, videos and selector guides.
11. To work to the company management system (ZIMS) requirements at all times.
12. Any other duties the company deem appropriate in the change of business circumstances.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. A level or equivalent
2. Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills to be able to manage large data sets
3. Proven experience working in a fast-moving environment to defined processes
4. High attention to detail
5. Have a questioning mind to ensure that the impact of content changes is understood and to identify opportunities for ongoing improvement
6. Ability to work independently against a defined set of objectives
7. Strong cross-functional experience and ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment
8. SQL experience preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
* The base work location is Wigston, Leicester.
* Hybrid working is permissible with a blend of both home working and in-office working with a requirement to come to the office a minimum of one day per week, sometimes more for training or team meetings.
* Collaborates closely with other members of the Zoro team and Grainger companies.
OTHER INFORMATION
The successful candidate must be able to commute to the offices in South Wigston, Leicester (LE18 2FS) at least one day a week.
The salary for this role is £29,000 per annum with a 10% annual bonus payable subject to the company achieving its KPIs.
The working hours are 37.5 per week between Monday and Friday between 09:00-17:00 with a 30-minute break for lunch.
