Assistant Finance Manager + £30k + Permanent role + Based in Bradford

Our client have over 50 years experience brining innovative and fresh solutions to the food and beverage industry. Due to growth of the business they have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager to join them.

The main focus of the role is to assist in the preparation of management accounts to pre-set monthly deadlines across all divisions of the company; provide accurate management information and to ensure the monthly payroll runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

* Preparation and proactive analysis of monthly management accounts

* Bank, supplier and debtors’ reconciliation

* Production of trial balance and making necessary adjustments (reallocations of costs and sales figures)

* Produce and check monthly invoices – completing pre-invoice run and random checking

* Assist with payroll (external payroll company used) re bonus, commissions, overtime and ensure compliance

* Support the Head of Accounts in ad-hoc tasks, reporting requirements and projects, including process improvement, compliance budget/forecasts, and enhancement of accounting system

* Costings: Track and analyse costs associated with services, operations, or projects to assist management in making cost-effective decisions.

* VAT Compliance: Demonstrate understanding of VAT regulations, including accurately recording VAT transactions, submitting VAT returns in a timely manner, and ensuring prompt payment of VAT liabilities by their due dates.

* Internal Control: Assess financial risks and devise strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing internal controls.

Qualifications:

* At least 3-4 years in an account’s environment with demonstrable finance background

* Finalist or Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA Accountant desirable either formally or through experience

* A strong user of Excel and possess well-honed accounting systems skills

* Have experience of reporting and using MIS – for financials of sales, costs, margins etc

* Have previous involvement in payroll

* Be quick to pick up new accounting and software packages

* Able to communicate confidently at all levels

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
