Overview
We are supporting an innovative engineering company looking to add an Engineering Buyer to their team. The company supply globally and are a dynamic and growing business who manufacture high tech machinery, looking to continue developing moving forwards.
The Role
Reporting into the Purchasing Manager within a small Purchasing team, this role will involve working with the technical teams on purchasing the a variety of components needed for a technical machine/system build - including fabricated and machined parts. The role will be varied, you can be managing multiple projects at once, juggling responsibilities to ensure the items are available when needed on site. This role can be adaptable to both a Buyer or Senior Buyer level.
Qualifications and Skills
Have experience within a manufacturing environment and ideally Ideally have experience from within a machinery build environment - if they have an R&D department that would be relevant due to the bespoke nature of the projects
If you are able to interpret engineering drawings at a basic level to be able to understand the best route to source that would be a bonus
Sourcing experience (not just an order placer)
Experience using an ERP/MRP system is advantageous
Be at least intermediate on Excel - familiar with Pivot tables, V Lookups as these will be used on a daily basis
Ideally be working towards CIPS qualification
Excellent communicator internally and externally
Excellent interpersonal skills, organisation and very strong attention to detail
