GSL Education are seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire, starting in May or June 2024.This position is ideal for individuals who aspire to make a significant difference in the lives of students and contribute to their educational journey.

Advanced Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the class teacher to assist in the planning and delivery of the curriculum.
Working across different classes to provide 1:1 and small group support to provide additional support to identified pupils.
Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities.
At times you may support pupils with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP), so you should have an understanding or awareness of additional needs such as autism and learning difficulties.
Assisting in creating and implementing educational resources and materials.
Assessing student progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Contributing to the overall school community through active participation.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Relevant qualifications and certifications as a Teaching Assistant or a Degree related to Education or Psychology.
Experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of classroom dynamics and student needs.
Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
