Job Role: Paint Shop Manager

Location: Tockwith, near York

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 with regular overtime

Are you an experienced paint sprayer or scenic artist ready to take on a leadership role? We're looking for a dynamic Paint Shop Manager to oversee our client's day-to-day operations and ensure the highest quality in their paint workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and control three distinct paint workshops: HQ Paint, Finishing Paint, and Prime Shop.

* Collaborate with various departments, including external partners.

* Provide quotes and sales costings for the department.

* Coordinate sampling for new projects with project teams.

* Oversee stock control and maintain production schedules.

* Ensure efficient manufacture and timely delivery of parts and materials.

* Provide regular updates on production progress to Production Managers.

* Lead and manage the production staff, ensuring all company and statutory procedures are followed.

About You:

Essential:

* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualifications/experience.

* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and proper PPE usage.

* Highly organized, flexible, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

* Demonstrated drive, enthusiasm, and commitment.

* Willingness to work flexible hours, especially during busy periods.

* Significant experience in high-quality paint or scenic artistry.

* Proven experience in team leadership and supervision.

* Ability to meet varying production deadlines and adapt to changing specifications.

Desirable:

* Expertise in painting/spraying techniques.

* Understanding of H&S issues related to manual handling and COSHH.

* Knowledge of different paints and primers.

* Previous management experience.
