Job Description:As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process, including data entry, payroll calculations, and distribution of payments. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Collecting and entering timekeeping information from employees
Calculating wages, deductions, and overtime hours
Processing payroll transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Generating and distributing paychecks or direct deposits to employees
Reconciling payroll discrepancies and resolving any issues or discrepancies
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records and reports
Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
Assisting with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and 1099 processing
Collaborating with the finance team to improve payroll processes and systems
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
years of experience in payroll processing or related role
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto)
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
