WHAT YOULL BE DOING:
* Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
* Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) as required to maintain equipment at optimal performance levels.
* Troubleshoot machinery and equipment to identify and address repair needs promptly.
* Provide mechanical support to manufacturing operations by diagnosing issues in mechanical systems or equipment.
* Install, assemble, dismantle, and maintain machinery, conveyor systems, gear boxes, and hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
* Rectify machinery and equipment deficiencies by performing repairs, adjustments, overhauls, and replacements of major assemblies, components, or systems.
* Assist with electrical and plumbing maintenance tasks.
* Inspect buildings and structures for malfunctions and repair requirements.
* Perform general repairs, such as drywall repairs, painting, and fixing doors and fixtures, that do not require specialized technicians.
* Contribute to facility upkeep and maintenance efforts.
* Identify equipment in need of repair and take appropriate action.
* Ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
* Journeyman status or eligibility to apply for a UAW journeyman card within six months of employment.
* Experience with forklifts, skid steers, aerial work platforms, overhead and mobile cranes is advantageous.
* Proficiency in reading blueprints.
* Understanding of machinery functionality for proper assembly and disassembly.
* Ability to utilize instruction manuals and tools effectively.
* Knowledge of on-the-job safety requirements, including Electrical Safety, Lock Out Tag Out, Back and Ergonomics Safety, Fall Protection, in accordance with OSHA standards.
* Basic welding and fabrication skills are desirable.
