JOB DESCRIPTION
886 bed Level One trauma center
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 2:30pm - 11pm EST, holiday, on call/call back per unit needs.
Seeking an MRI Technologist.
* You must have completed formal training in an approved school of Radiologic Technology and maintain certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* Our ideal candidate knows how to operate the MRI machine efficiently, can make patients feel comfortable before and during the scanning procedure, and coordinates with the patient's physician to ensure the results are received in a timely manner.
* You also must be familiar with medical terminology and be able to stand for extended periods.
MRI TECHNOLOGIST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
* Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
* Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
* Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
* Document all procedures while maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
* Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BLS and ACLS
* National Institutes of Health (NIH)
* Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
* The ability to stand for extended periods.
* Strong technical skills.
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Passionate about patient care
* Requires a minimum of two years of current RN PACU experience.
* Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
* Active unencumbered New York RN state license
* Two years of Epic experience
* Two years of Telemetry experience
* Chemo Certification required
REQUIREMENTS
