Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
Oversee the general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, and ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing variances and providing recommendations to management to support financial decision-making.
Prepare and review tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
Assist in coordinating external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit findings or accounting issues.
Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training, mentoring, and supervision, to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate relevant updates to accounting staff and management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
3+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with experience in financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
