Staff Accountant

Job Summary:We are looking for a talented and motivated Staff Accountant to support our finance department in carrying out various accounting functions. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Perform month-end and year-end close activities, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for management review.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and support cross-functional initiatives.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Prepare and file sales tax returns and other regulatory filings as required.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Handle ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification or progress towards CPA is preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
