Buyer (Training Provided)

Actio Technical Recruitment are working with our successful Poole-based Manufacturing client to find a Buyer to join their expanding team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of buyers, who are responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to customer and company specifications. You will take ownership of purchase orders, from the time they are placed to the time they are delivered.

You will also be liaising with internal departments, suppliers and customers to manage supply levels, negotiate terms and handle supplier contracts.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, this challenging and rewarding role will involve:

* Compare quotes from suppliers

* Raising orders and full ownership of buying in line with schedules

* Generating material costings

* Creation of Bills of Materials in the MRP system

* Maintain accurate material information on the MRP system

* Effective supplier management and relationship building

* Working closely with Production, Engineering and Sales teams

* Escalate all issues directly to the Materials Manager

About you

All training on internal systems and processes will be given, but we are looking for someone who:

* Has experience working in a fast-paced environment

* Able to work off own initiative

* Confident telephone manner

* Good administration skills and computer literate

* Able to use Microsoft Excel

* Keen and enthusiastic

* Team player

Candidates with transferrable skills – i.e. Sales, Customer Service, Negotiating backgrounds would be suitable for this role.

Pay and Benefits

Salary - £28-30K per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

On-site parking
Monday to Thursday – Early Finish Friday.
