Our client, a leading manufacturer for the Nuclear Sector are looking to recruit an Technical Engineering Manager to join the business on a permanent basis due to continued growth.

The purpose of the role is to lead a team of multi-discipline design and manufacturing engineers in the delivery of projects, managing the preparation of outline and detailed engineering designs and working closely with client and contract partners whilst supporting manufacturing technical needs.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience a lead role managing multi disciplinary teams in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment to ensure the efficient manufacture of complex components on time, to budget and to the high-quality standards required.

To be considered, Candidates must be degree qualified - Chartered status is desirable

Hours - 36 hours Monday - Friday(Flexible) - 1PM finish on Friday

This role is available for an immediate start and will be based in Workington.

Candidates must be British Nationals and be able to obtain a basic security clearance to be considered for this role due to the nature of the work produced.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

* Ensure that all Technical/Planning solutions consider the necessary Health, Safety and Environmental requirements allowing Workshop activities to be delivered safely, right first time, and with minimum impact on the environment.

* Continual Improvement Carrying out specific design and manufacturing support tasks to meet the time, cost and quality requirements of design and manufacturing projects.

* Stress calculations

* Directive compliance assessments

* Scheme design review including manufacturability reviews

* Detail stress calculations

* Detail functional calculations

* Directive compliance assessments

* Oversee Production of manufacturing documentation consisting of; fabrication and assembly drawings, development and documenting factory acceptance tests, factory method statements, technical construction files

* Take part in; client meetings, testing activities, commissioning activities, post project review meetings

* Translate project drawings into detailed workshop planning in the form of route cards and controlled diagrams, ensuring that all quality standards, value engineering solutions and testing specifications are included.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in a Lead/ management role is essential - minimum 3 years

Degreed qualified in a relevant mechanical discipline - Chartered status is advantageous.

* Demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing engineering environment

* Knowledge or interaction with manufacturing for the Nuclear Sector
