HGV Mechanic - Northern Ireland

Our client has a number of Quarries throughout Northern Ireland which supply a wide range of aggregates to the construction industry. In order to supply these materials, they have a large modern fleet delivering nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an enthusiastic HGV Mechanic to join their team!
You will be responsible for conducting planned maintenance, repairs and modifications to a wide range of HGV vehicles, attending machine breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently, to ensure minimum down time, troubleshooting and diagnostic fault-finding for both mechanical and electrical breakdowns, ensuring adequate supply of essential parts and ordering of parts, when required, updating records and maintenance logs, ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies; including Health & Safety, observing and complying with all good working practices within the company and carrying out general HGV mechanic duties within the maintenance department
To qualify, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in HGV maintenance, knowledge of auto-electrics, engines, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems, be able to work on your own and as part of a team demonstrating a good work ethic, have a good understanding of IT and Health & Safety, be able to work flexible hours as and when required and have a full UK Driving Licence. It’s also desirable that you have HGV Licence (not essential)
