We are seeking an experienced and dynamic officer to lead our Agri-food and Tourism and Innovation in High Value Manufacturing programmes working as part of our Leadership Team. This unique position provides the opportunity to deliver across two areas that make a key contribution to delivering on our ambition for the region. You will play an integral role in delivering projects that will promote innovation and decarbonisation across sectors as well creating employment and training opportunities.
The role will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders in the sector, including local authorities, government, the private sector and our universities and colleges.
As Growth Deal Programme Manager at Ambition North Wales, your responsibilities will include:
* Leadership of the Agri-food and Tourism and Innovation in High Value Manufacturing programmes including design, negotiation and planning;
* Lead on negotiations with project sponsors, investors and key stakeholders including UK and Welsh Governments, providing the knowledge and expertise required to support the business case for investment in projects;
* Development, negotiation and agreement of business cases for all projects within scope;
* Oversee project delivery including project design and planning, implementation and conclusion;
* Achievement of individual project and cumulative programme outcomes and targets on time and within allocated resources;
* Co-ordination of joint and inter-dependent planning and implementation including risk management and benefits realisation;
* Contribution to the design and implementation of relevant regional strategies.
At Ambition North Wales, we are looking for a Growth Deal Programme Manager with the following:
* Degree/postgraduate in a relevant field (or equivalent);
* Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
* A good working knowledge of programme and project management methods and experience of successful delivery to deadline and budget
* Good knowledge or awareness of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes;
* Understanding of financial management and procurement practice;
* Specific knowledge of – either Agri-food and Tourism or Innovation in High Value Manufacturing
* High level negotiating skills including securing approvals within complex governance arrangements;
* Experience of effective public/stakeholder engagement;
* Evidence and a record of continuous professional development;
* Previous experience of staff management;
* Experience of prioritising strategic opportunities and securing consensus for project selection;
The team have adopted a hybrid working model with a mix of Llandudno Junction office based and home working. In return, you will receive a salary of £56,703 - £59,815 per annum plus membership of the local government pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement. This is a full-time role with Ambition North Wales; however, we will consider flexible working requests for the right person. This is a permanent contract.
