Coinford is a groundworks and concrete frame specialist that delivers contracts ranging from £1million to £50million throughout London and the South East of England. This role works out of our Head office, Redeham Hall
Role Purpose/Objective:
Reporting into the Head of Procurement the Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing the best quality equipment, goods, and services at the most competitive prices to enable the Company to operate successfully. The role holder needs to ensure that they contribute positively towards saving the business money, minimising waste and increasing profits through sourcing suppliers, negotiating, and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responding to Site communications (email and calls) regarding products/services required in a time efficient manner.
* Undertake research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of ensuring good value, delivery schedules and quality.
* Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
* Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of specifications and expectations of the Company
* Liaise effectively between suppliers/manufacturers with internal teams such as estimating, plant etc.
* Competitively placing of orders with suppliers, considering price and availability
* Follow up on and chase orders that have not arrived on time or to the specifications given, escalating where necessary to the Head of Procurement
* Update procurement database with relevant information on
* Liaising with accounts department and reconciling of invoices

Experience/skills required:
Previous Buying experience ideally as an Assistant Buyer
Strong industry knowledge of products and services used in provision of Construction and Frameworks
Negotiating skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaboratively work with internal and external teams
Time management skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with ability to adapt style to meet the needs of your audience
Good organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently, escalating any concerns/issues as and where necessary

Qualifications:
Absolute minimum GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics
