Position Overview:
The Vice President of Business Development is a key leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of the company through successful partnerships with targeted insurer partners and agencies. This role involves leading the business development team, working closely with the international team, and overseeing the execution of targeted partnerships to ensure rapid market entry and sustained success. The VP of Business Development must demonstrate strong sales, communication, and negotiation skills while providing strategic guidance and fostering a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to expand BJAK's market presence and achieve growth objectives.
Identify and establish high-impact relationships with targeted insurer partners and agencies, leading negotiations and securing long-term agreements.
Manage and mentor the business development team, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team targets.
Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to inform strategic planning and identify new opportunities for growth.
Work closely with the international team and other departments to ensure seamless execution of partnerships and alignment with company goals.
Oversee the preparation of compelling presentations and communications to win partnerships and maintain strong relationships.
Ensure consistent, proactive follow-up with key points of contact to sustain successful partnerships and drive continuous growth.
Utilize exceptional sales and negotiation skills to lead partnership discussions and close deals that align with BJAK's strategic objectives.
Establish clear performance metrics and objectives for the business development team and lead efforts to achieve or exceed targets.
Demonstrate a "can-do" attitude, strong passion, ownership, accountability, and teamwork while fostering a culture of excellence.
Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
Requirements
Extensive experience in business development leadership, preferably within the insurance industry or related fields.
Proven track record of driving successful partnerships and achieving growth targets.
Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Strong research, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
Ability to work effectively with international teams and navigate different cultural contexts.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
