1 Resource Group is currently seeking experienced Generator Technician for our client in Fort Smith. This is a direct hire position with great benefits and company perks included. The candidate will work closely with the Service Manager to plan work schedules and prioritize customer needs. Responsibilities
Consult with Service Manager to plan effective work and travel schedule, giving priority to customer needs and considering location of machine and availability of parts
Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs or replacements of worn and defective parts
Install new assemblies, adjust devices and controls, and test equipment to ensure proper functioning
Provide tools and parts and arrange for facilities to perform repair work, usually on customer premises
Inspect, operate, and test machines upon initial delivery, at specified inspection intervals, and upon completion of any repair work
Report information to Service Manager, such as customer name, machine description, nature of malfunction, time involved, mileage, etc., for proper billing
Perform preventative maintenance service, including changing fluids and filters, inspecting AC and DC systems, belts, hoses, exhaust systems, and other components
Strive to increase technical skills through training and reading of technical literature
Promote and enhance company image by maintaining a neat personal appearance and keeping the service truck clean and organized
Mentor or supervise other servicemen as needed
Requirements
High School Education or GED equivalent
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, including servicing and repairing
Knowledge of electrical systems, including reading diagrams and repairing electrical components and circuits
Experience with power generation is a plus
Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Proficiency in using a multimeter
Owns basic tools
Good computer skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as stooping, bending, and climbing
