Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development candidates for our Public and Private Land Development groups located in our Richmond, VA office location.
Project Engineer II/IIIs are Civil Engineers with 2 to 10 years’ experience.  The qualified individuals will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial and public land development projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, task management and team collaboration on design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Create project designs using relevant software including Civil 3D
Complete supporting project calculations for site hydrology, earthwork balance, utility sizing, erosion control design, and engineering cost opinions 
Compile complete design details and plan sets for locality review & approval
Work with the project manager to process site plan reviews, revisions and submissions leading to approvals & permits from localities, VDOT, DEQ, and other agencies
Specify proprietary site engineering elements such as underground drainage and stormwater management systems through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs
Create base maps, site test fits, and engineering reports for site due diligence
Attend client and stakeholder meetings with the project manager and other team members
Complete construction field observations, site visit reports, and conformance inspections
Work productively in a team environment, maintaining good communication with cross-functional team members (both internal and external) throughout the project lifecycle
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
At least two years of experience in Land Development projects in Virginia preferred
EIT required, PE registration is a plus
Advanced level of working proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Working knowledge of SiteOps, Pondpack, Bluebeam, and ArcGIS are a plus
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of VA state requirements for stormwater management, VRRM, and currently permitted manufactured stormwater management systems
Excellent written and oral communication skills
