An exciting opportunity has arisen with us here at Work Lyf Group with our client for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer based in the Aviation Industry. Our client is a market leader in the manufacture of bespoke high-performance commercial & military radar antennas and supplier of complete radar systems. With products in service in over 60 countries with more than 500 installations and therefore looking to add a Software Engineer to their workforce.

Salary - £45,000 - £60,000. Contract 12 Months with additional months if required - potential for permanent role once completed.

Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team where you will develop safety assurance evidence on a range of civil and military projects. The role will be based in Stoke (to obtain interest outside of the area HYBRID WORK would be a possibility) with potential working visits to their subsidiary Finland and client sites as required.

As a Software Engineer, you will be:

Building air and surface surveillance radar systems to detect airplanes for purpose of Air Traffic Control.

Developing and enforcing software quality management plans for safety critical software applications.

Using existing processes, customer requirements, and industry standards to develop new SQA plans and processes.

Overseeing project design, delivery, and testing to ensure conformance to QA processes.

Verifying that system requirements are clear, testable, and consistent.

Documenting test cases and traceability to requirements. As well as documenting conformance through records and tracking systems.

Developing standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.

Managing problem / defect reports, corrective action plans.

Exposing and isolating software performance and compliance issues.

Researching and implementing new tools, technologies, and conformance testing processes.

Providing guidance to program management on risk management.

Knowledge of Linux based systems and databases

Professional certification such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant Engineering degree

5+ years of experience with a strong understanding of SQA process and methods.

Experience in software safety and integrity assurance standards (DO-278A, ED-153, ED-109).

Understanding of software development lifecycle, configuration management, and development tools.

Experience in programming languages C, C++, QT. • Experience with test scripting tools, analysis and modelling software, scanning tools.

Experience with the UK CAA and a track record within the aviation industry
