We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager for an accountancy practice where you will play a vital role in driving exceptional client service for existing clients and ensuring successful outcomes and exceeding expectations. You will possess excellent technical expertise and thrive on building relationships.

Responsibilities

* Manage a Client Portfolio for Tax & Accounting Compliance: Steer a portfolio of clients, ensuring their tax and accounting needs are met with meticulous compliance.

* Client Relationship: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust and fostering open communication.

* Team Leadership & Workflow Optimisation: Lead and guide team members, streamlining workflow across the office to maximise efficiency.

* Invest in Junior Development: Nurture and develop the skills of junior staff members, empowering their growth within the team.

* Tax Preparation: Prepare tax calculations and corporate and personal tax returns for clients.

* VAT Return Assurance: Oversee and review VAT return preparation to ensure accuracy.

* HMRC & Companies House Liaison: Handle document submissions to HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients.

* Client Communication Hub: Effectively manage client correspondence, ensuring timely responses and clear communication.

* Business Setup & Growth Strategist: Provide business set-up services like incorporations and HMRC registrations, aiding clients in establishing their ventures.

* Client Growth Champion: Recognise opportunities to propose additional services that benefit clients and contribute to their growth.

* Technical Support: Assist partners and directors with specialised assignments when needed, offering technical support as required.

Experience

* Thrives with communication and builds rapport with clients.

* Manage multiple tasks effectively while working independently or collaboratively.

* Takes the initiative, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

* Proficient in MS Office and Social Media.

* Ability to compose clear, concise, and informative emails and documents.

* Experience of working at an Accounts Manager level in an accountancy practice.

* Financial reporting: experience in accounts preparation for limited companies and unincorporated businesses.

* Familiar with preparing tax computations and returns for limited companies, unincorporated business, and individuals.

* Ideally AAT or ACA / ACCA qualified.

This role is a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday, offering a competitive salary depending on experience. Flexible and Hybrid working is available with this role, along with an annual salary review.
