Technical Sales Team Manager

The goal of the Sales Team Manager's position is to increase turnover and profitability of the company through guiding the sales team through effective and efficient working practices, as well as working within the sales team on existing and new business to meet and exceed sales targets. 

Objectives of the role:
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth by whilst optimising current and improved operating capabilities.
Assessing and implementing improved processes including any appropriate innovative technologies, collaborating with team members, and implementing improvements.
Enforcing compliance in line with up-to-date legislation and taking action when necessary.
Working together with key management to compile budgets/targets and employ cost efficient strategies.
Business growth through new business and existing customer account management. Liaising with customers on their current and future requirements to ensure maximum potential growth.
Directly oversee and analyse internal sales and identify areas of improvement required.
Develop actionable sales strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the business plan.
Monitor operational performance and establish corrective measures as needed.
Reporting, both current and forecasted sales and marketing KPI’s/Budgets.
Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant KPI’s.
Providing technical knowledge and professional advice to customers and sales team members.
Increasing customer spend through existing business and new business growth.
Manage and enable all team members to exceed targets set.
Interview, hire, manage, train, and develop members of the sales team. Ensuring that all members of the team have clear objectives and goals and through tracking KPI’s and data all targets are met. In addition, complement and support the leadership of the Directors and to work in partnership to bring the best leadership to the forefront.
Ensure effective recruitment, ongoing development, performance management and staff retention.   
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Directly oversee and analyse internal sales and identify areas of improvement required.
Ensure all targets are met/exceeded.
Develop actionable sales strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the business plan.

Empower the team with the leadership and resource required to succeed.
Positively represent the company at all times through a professional and success-driven approach.

Qualifications and experience:
Essential: 
Sales experience and/or customer service experience within a scientific or technical industry.
Excellent IT skills (including PowerPoint)
Degree in Science and/or technical related discipline
Passionate about Science and Technology
Good communication skills
Good organisational skills Desirable:
Proven record of success in sales
Previous experience within the field
SAP (Training will be given) Please note, this is an office based role, Monday to Friday.
